it's funny, last I checked, Jews weren't a race. Race in any event is largely a social construct. All the mayor is trying to do here is preserve Jewish culture by letting the city remain jewish. It's not about race, and the question isn't one of racism. If all of nazareth's arab citizens decided to convert, the mayor would have no problem. It doesn't matter if they are arabs, chinese, swedish, or aliens. The mayor here is trying to defend a cultural and religious heritage in the state that protects that cultural religious heritage. So please don't use the term "racist" to describe this mayor. Have a more honest discussion about particularism vs. universalim.
