The author lives in South Tel Aviv? probably not. Many of these residents of South Tel Aviv could not afford to move out of the area and are stuck there. Is the author saying that the residents of South Tel Aviv are responsible for all the crime and drugs there? Who buys the drugs? Who visits the prostitutes? Only those from South Tel Aviv ? Or that hey never ever objected or tried to change anything???? Really?? This neighborhood has had it bad for a very long time now and this recent influx is only one problem of many. Racism is too simplistic an answer, sure it exists in south but it sure does in Jerusalem too ( where I live). This problem is also a government problem, having thousands living in limbo land with no solution is not a problem south Tel Aviv residents can solve. That alone would help a thousand. The real reason racism raises it's ugly head is because of fear ( not by stereotyping south tel aviivian as racist because they are what.......ignorant....poor......criminal, tolerant of crime in their neighborhood!!!!!! ( that one was a shocker!) Is this not a form of racism too? I guess they can tolerate a lot of hard things others can't, or maybe most of them have no choice. This article just slams and blames them for everything.
