Racism is often weird and irrational; as a child I had a Sikh friend and a Muslim friend, too young to have their own ideas about religious differences, but they fought- usually started by the Sikh boy, but I could play happily with either, though more different from both. Our sons were brought up differently, we have a Hindu daughter in law, and a Catholic one, and the grandchildren have friends of all shades, so to me this problem is like religion, brainwashed into children's heads, which is pretty disgusting. Not encouraged in New Zealand.
