    Rachel, the Arabs attacked the Israelis in 1948. They lost. I was pointing to a general trend in warfare over the last 100 or so years. We all know how Germany and Austria won WW I. How Germany, Italy and Japan won WW II. We watched in awe as the US crushed Vietnam, the Soviet Union conquered Afghanistan, and Saddam Hussien took over Iran and Kuwait. The old glory days of conquest ended long ago. Now the cost of conquest is agony, bloody agony. Let us consider how much occupation has benefitted Israel. . .
