It is tremendously unfair to both men to compare them, as Prime Ministers they both were dealing with different aspects and strategic situations in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Better to compare them as millitary leaders. Sharon to many was more the natural leader of men, strategist, and tactician. The entrapment of the Egyptian 3rd army in the Yom Kippur war under Sharon is studied by other millitaries. Perhaps the best that can be said is that Rabin was a representative leader for a time of the misplaced hope like Oslo, Sharon a representative leader for the dark time of the post-Oslo morass and intifadas.
