    Rabbi Israel Lau should also resign. He's just as dirty as Metzger! Lau takes enormous sums of money for performing weddings and did so even when he was the Chief Rabbi and sitting as President of the Supreme Rabbinical Court. Lau has been investigated by the Income Tax Authorities several times for undeclared income. Lau's lack of integrity was exposed by HAARETZ over 6 years ago; however, that didn't stop the powers-that-be from awarding Lau with the Israeli prize in 2005 and that included a cheque for 50,000.00 NIS. Lau has proven that if you have enough clout, you can be awarded for law breaking. Why hasn't Mazuz said anything about Lau or any of the other Rabbinical Court judges who continue to take cash under the table for officiating at weddings? Rabbinical court judges are paid at the same rate as judges in the civilian District Courts and Rabbis who serve on the Supreme Rabbinical Court are paid at the same rate as judges in he Supreme Court.
