As a young adult between 15-18yrs. old, Rabbi Hartman as Rav of TBDJ, Montreal, was a special force in engaging young people to celebrate & be proud of their Jewishness, with many social events, learning , dancing in the street with R. Shlomo Carlebach...... I was in Israel 2 years ago, and enjoyed a lecture at the Hartman Institute, with former Montrealers who made Aliyah & enjoyed his drashot & lectures. To the family - please accept my heartfelt sympathies. I am know that warm memories will be a constant souce of comfort. May Hashem comfort you along with the mourners of Zion & Jerusalem.
