Not once had Arab countries even spoke about compensation for all jews who were slaughtered or fled their homes in places such as Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon & Syria...I am for fair an equal compensation. If the jews who fit into that catagory get compensated from their respective countries, then so should the Palestinians. However, we all know that will never happen. My grandfather was driven out of Yemen in 1900. Both his parents siblings were slaughtered and his uncle escaped with him to what is now Israel. He later helped found the modern day city of Tel Aviv. After my families experience, it makes me want to strive more for peace, but we cannot expect it to come without it being handled fairly in regards to compensation. In regards to people being forced out, it was only when Israel was declared a state that it was immediately attacked because the Palestinians felt it was all their land. Israel never made anyone leave at the time who was not a threat. In any event, what is the past is the past, we should never forget, so that we all do not commit the mistakes of the past on all sides. May this new year bring peace to all.
