There is very good reason for such people concerned with the wanton abuse of power to visit Damascus. But I am sure they would receive similar treatment there and not get much beyond passport control at the airport ... just as it is now in Tel Aviv. That a purportedly "democratic" country like Israel is mentioned in the same breath as Damascus speaks volumes about the kind of place Israel has become ... and the depths to which it has sunk.
