Six million POLES died (jewishvirtuallibrary.org), only half of them Jewish. So the tragedy was shared quite equally. I think many contemporary Jews forget that the Nazis ran the death camps in Poland and Poles were their first victims. "Kill every man, woman and child" of Polish nationality was the directive.
