A comment made by Margerat Thatcher after details of Israel's nuclear weapons capability was announced by Mordechai Vanunu in The Sunday Times. And with Iran's nuclear facilities seemingly impervious to anything that Israel possesses in it's conventional arsenal. Surely it would be better to sit down with the Iranians and work out a deal which allows them to enrich uranium to the 20% that they require. Israel's problem is that this means that Iran can achieve parity with Israel whenever they want, which is just as good as having the nuclear deterrent, without the expense. This causes a problem because Israel wants all nuclear activities halted, whilst the NPT which Iran is a signatory allows for enrichment of Uranium for peaceful civil nuclear programmes.
