Well if they are succeeding then they should continue as they are. Are they succeeding? The whole reason talks are slow in something like this is politics (in all senses of the word). Complete transparency, everything public, will remove the "politics". All that is needed is for one person in Gaza to say to one of the kidnappers "my brother will go free, he has been in jail ten years, what is the holdup". That is only possible if everyone gets hit with the minutiae of the negotiations.
