OK...The Kotel functions according to halacha, and the halacha forbids it. That's what they'll say. Do you think the Kotel (the holiest site in Judaism available for Jewish prayer) should not be governed by halacha? On what grounds? The burden would be on you. I don't have strong feelings on the Women of the Wall. I also think most of the arguments here are strong. But this one was very strange and lays open a weakness at the core of the group's positions.
