How can non-Jewish citizens feel but alienated to a state that defines itself as above, or is defined as above by its representatives - obviously posing as representatives of Jewish citizens? Either your state is Jewish (excluding the non-Jewish elements) or it is democratic (a state of all citizens). It escapes me how anybody can seriously use the combination.
