If there is credible evidence of cluster bomb use in Syria, by the Syrian government, why is a UN envoy not willing to stick his or her neck out? So far, after 3 weeks, all we have in the way of "credible evidence" is a bunch of unforensic YouTube videos that would be laughed out of court, accompanied by equally credible statements by SFA interlocutors. This rumour needs to be either confirmed or dispelled. Surely Haaretz has the cachet to askthe Russian Ambassador in Tel Aviv for an explanation that bolsters Mr Lavrov's denial of cluster bomb use by the Syrian Government. Russia's failure to d so would be progress of a sort. Can Haaretz help, or are you satisfied to merely add whispers to the whispering gallery?
