Tibet has been "Chinese territory" for over a 1,000 years, and even during the time of warlordism (you know, when Tibet stopped listening to Peking) there was not a single nation that recognized Tibet as an independent state. Not. One. Not even the British, who were the ones urging the Tibetans to thumb their nose at the central government. Honestly, there is so much ignorance in talkback.
