So lets say the father (or, more likely, grandfather) of the person you are talking to, DID in fact commit crimes during WWII. What would that mean for the son/grandson? Can you inherit "guilt". Is the son of a muderer guilty of murder? Is not the notion of guilt itself something which is necessarily personal?
