    The Palestinians have been saying for months that they will go the the UN in September if there was no movement on the peace negotiations with Israel. Netanyahu turned his back on the negotiations for over a year. No one in his right mind believe that he is serious about negotiations. Even if the discussion in the security council was postponed, how long should the world allow for the negotiations. 20 years of fruitless negotiations is long enough, not only for the Palestinians, but for any fair minded observer. Israel is intoxicated with the occupied territories, it just does not want to give it up regardless of what the world thinks. If I were Abbas, I would ask the US and the European if they would declare from now that if the negotiations fail after 6 months if they will ALL be willing to give their support to a Palestinian state at the UN. If they balk, then they are full of it and resuming an endless negotiations is meaningless. If they talk the talk, then they must be prepared to walk the walk. It is time to put up or shut the heck up. This conflict has been going for over 60 years. It must come to and end now. Postponement will fester the wound, it won't heal it. Israel must come to understand that it is no longer the spoiled child of the world.
