Iron Dome's procurement ought to be investigated. There is no doubtas that the whole discussion and then implementation leading up to the Iron Dome project werre very much flawed, politically motivated, with complete disregarded the needs of the population of the south. By proposing the Nautilus lazer system as an alternative is flawed as well. Since the 80's the Goal Keeper System designed to protect ships from rocket attacks, in service in Irak and Afganistan to protect USA basis, a weapon system operational and available off the shelf, could easely have been procured and inastalled just after the Second Lebanese War. The effect would certainly have been much more "cost effective" than the Rolls Royce which is deservely praised for its effectiveness, but so costly to implement. If you add up the cost of the system design, the cost per Rockets and the aerial support that made them invulnerable from the enemie's attacks it seems that this cost effectiveness was not as brilliant as the media would make us believe.
