How do you know why many young Jews leave Israel every year? Have you conducted a scientific study? Just maybe it has to do youthful wanderlust, a desire to see the world, or perhaps the perception of greater economic opportunity, or perhaps even something as mundane as wanting to be independent of parents by putting some substantial distance between you and them - something impossible to do in a country as small as Israel. I doubt that it is "to escape what they see as the Orthodox strangle hold on their personal lives"?
