I'm mexican and I am going to be pretty straight forward: Nachos, Chimichanga are NOT mexican and no one in mexico eats that. There are many many myths on mexican food and I feel the need to decry one of them (after all I'm mexican and I love mexican food): Myth: Mexican food is too greasy: This is true if you really think that all that mexicans eat is street food. Food eaten at home or in restaurants is not greasy. And if there is a "real" mexican food it surely is the one that is consumed at home. Also, as an ending point, If you want to know and appreciate real mexican food you must be willing to go out of your comfort zone.
