I took from this article that Isreal wants to prevent the use of BioChemical Weapons by the Government of Syria against it's rebelling people. Jordan's worried about the Zealot groups who are in Syria possible using the weapons for their own random and extreme purposes. Considering that Isreal is the 1st target on almost everyone's kill list in the Middle East I would think they'd have a right to be interested and involved. Plus, we don't know the relationship of the groups fighting in Syria to warmongers in Palestine and Iran.
