President Peres: "My heart is crushed when I see how the prime minister was received in Washington...." History will judge Obama harshly for his treatment of the Jewish state. Netanyahu is prime minister of the State of Israel. He is not prime minister of a party named Likud. President Peres is right in saying that Israel should not build in Arab neighbourhoods. He is mistaken in his belief that Netanyahu would ever be well received by Obama. Only a total capitulation to all of Obama's dictates would earn the israeli prime minister a decent reception. Such, however, would amount to the renounciation of Israel's sovereignty. Poor President Peres is still the idealist who sees the best in humans.
