How can Amira Hass pretend that Israelis ''enjoy'' the occupation when she knoes very well that every single opinion poll conducted over the last 12 years show that a stable majority of Israelis support the Clinton parameters? Therefore, the reason Israelis vote Likud is not because they support the idea of a Greater Israel but rather because they fear that if the IDF pulls out of the West Bank, Hamas will use this territory to fire rockets on Israel since its ultimate goal remains the destruction of Israel and not the independence of the Palestinian territories. Thus, by accusing Israelis of supporting the occupation, Amira Hass lies and she does it on purpose. How long will Haaretz tolerate this libel against Israelis? I understand that any pluralistic newspaper must open its columns to controversial journalists expressing unpopular opinions. However, this has nothing to do with journalism. It's sheer diffamation. By the way, Amira Hass accuses Israel of being an ''ethnocracy'' without being able to cite one single political right Israeli Jews benefit from that Israeli Arabs don't benefit from as well. If Amira Hass wants to spread falshood about Israel, the old Pravda of the 1950's is more appropriate for her than Haaretz which claims to be a serious analytical left-wing Zionist newspaper.
