There are a lot of advantages to a growing population. Countries with a youthful and growing population tend to be more dynamic and innovative, they also have more workers, consumers, and tax payers. When the developed nations had strong population growth they had strong economies. Now that their populations are declining and aging their economies have stagnated (just look at the problems in Europe, Japan, and the US). Countries with low birth rates should do everything they can to get their populations to grow again. And people living in those countries should strongly consider having more children. If everyone just had one more child than they were planning to it wouldn't be much of burden on them but would be a huge benefit to their country.
