I have no love for Lapid, personally I can't stand the man and his budget was full of flaws but tell me Yossi when did the left ever get things right? Oh you can spend a fortune on social projects, the people will love you for it and it will certainly win you an election but the problem is to get all this money to fund all these great social projects we had to borrow heavily and loans have to be repaid and when you have borrowed so much to fund all these wonderful social projects that your going to have a hard time paying it back you get into the mess they have in Europe and now the only way to start repaying your debts is by making huge cutbacks overnight even more painful than Lapids rather than gradual cutback and people will hate you for it moan about how you don't care about anybody and your the most evil government the country has ever had etc. The sort of stuff we are hearing about Lapid and Bibi right now as a result of this budget. We borrowed to fund lots of things now its payback time and the only way to do that is through tax rises and budget cuts, it hurts for sure but thats how it works when you borrow. We also hear alot of noise from the left about hurting the middle class but they don't suggest any alternate solutions. You can only tax the wealthy so far before they do what the ordinary man is unable to do and thats pack their bags and move abroad taking all their taxable wealth with them and then there are fewer top rate taxpayers in the country so an even bigger burden of debt has to be paid for by the middle class and these people probably employ quite alot of people so unemployment will rise and the state will have to find even more money to help them. Already quite a few of our very rich have done that, they have been called immoral and all sorts of things by the left for doing so but they are not interested in morality they want to keep their money not be overtaxed. You can only take so much money from the military before they are unable to fight wars anymore then its very existence becomes pretty useless. The left make s it sound like TAX or DONT TAX rather than looking at the fact it all causes a ripple effect and if you get it right the ripple effect can be good but if you get it wrong its going to go very wrong.

from the article: Yair Lapid, the joke is on you
