Lieberman serves as the Minister for Strategic Threats. Until now, this has been understood to mean "the Iranian threat". Now that this threat has disappeared before our eyes, Olmert will have to find something else for Lieberman to do. If Olmert does not want to give Lieberman one of the fat and respectable portfolios Kadimah is presently holding, Olmert better find some new threats to fear. As is the case with Bush, a new enemy has to be found quickly, or the entire government will become restless for lack of direction. The simplest way is to wait until Bush defines his new enemy (and I suggested this could be Syria), then have Lieberman be in charge of the threat. It will improve relations with the US. Who needs tensions when one deals with artificial situations?
