Levy says "But Shalit and the Palestinian prisoners are not alone. Seven million Israelis and three and a half million Palestinians have been imprisoned for 42 years in a dark cave due to the curse of occupation. " Oh yes, the curse of the occupation that started 42 years ago. Why did it start? Because Jordan refused to stay out of the war and attacked Israel, and the direct result of Jordanian aggression was the loss off the west bank. Levy is correct that we should have given Gaza back to Egypt immediately. And thrown up a wall and deep moat to keep the Gazans out of Israel (they could go work in Egypt, no?). Levy is simply upset that the Arabs failed to overrun Israel and kill us all - their stated goal. On the other hand, Levy could do us all a favor by falling on his pen and putting us out of his misery.

How I learned to fall in love with sanctions

Sanctions did not devastate South Africa or Iran. Nor will they destroy Israel; above all it will extricate Israel from a trap it is unable to get out of by itself.
