Poor Danny, He's around 70 years old and his career is winding down, but he has never managed to achieve the greatness the thinks he deserves. He's not regarded as one of the top-notch commentators; he was just Yassir Arafat's biographer. But now Arafat's dead and nobody's interested in what Danny has to say. He's reduced to angry diatribes about Israeli intransigence and Palestinian steadfastness. I'm sure this goes down well in his Yom Kippur jaunts over to East Jerusalem for lunch, but for a man who was once an original journalist it's rather sad.
