Plybios wrote, "Remember how the US supported the murderous Shah of Iran?" This sentence in itself is not very interesting. Just another act of apeing oft repeated bits of so-called "common knowledge". My problem with this line is that it is clueless. it is always repeated that the Shah was a murderous dictator, but do they actually know what they are talking about. It is written on a number of sites, that the Shah is believed to have killed up to 14,000 Iranians. These figures are after the fact and supplied by the mullah led gov't. Fourteen thousand, if this had taken place in the United States or Israel, then yes that is quite a few. but if we put it in the context of modern Iranian history it is laughable. The Shah was in control for twnety years, that means that this brutal dictator averaged 700 murders a year. Relative to his neighbors he is Jesus Christ! Please in the future be careful when tossing around euphimisms and accepted knowledge.
