The US shares a ton of information (not to mention resources) with Israel by legal means. Common regional interests make that a win-win situation, but that doesn't make it an equal relationship. Without Israel over the last 60 years, the US economy and world power would have been threatened by potential Soviet expansion in the oil states. On the other hand, without the US warning off the USSR from direct involvement on behalf of Egypt and Syria, Israel may have actually ceased to exist decades ago. It's always been an important relationship but Israel needs to accept that it doesn't get carte blanche to spy on the US. Pollard belongs in jail.
