Not so much because of what he did, but because so many of Israel's partisans keep agitating for his release. Pollard's actions, ultimately, demonstrate that the US and Israel are two different countries, that their interests are not identical, and that loyalty to one can conflict with loyalty to the other. To keep harping on the Pollard case is to rub everyone's nose in these facts. I hope it continues -- but then, my motives aren't exactly the most benevolent.
