Before it signs up to 'repatriate' Pollard, Israel should step back for one moment and scan Capturing Jonathan Pollard: How One of the Most Notorious Spies in American History Was Brought to Justice. Don't let the title fool you; the book is a good read, in part because of Pollard himself, in part because several levels of U.S. DoD management - flag officers included - should have been burned at the stake for not having arrested Pollard sooner than they did. If, after reading the book, Israel still wants Pollard, then, by God, Israel should have Pollard. America's loss would be Israel's gain. Not that anyone's implying Israel might be looking a gift horse in the mouth.
