Very nice article but it does not explain why to this day Poland Has denied citizenship to hundreds of thousands of its Polish born Jews who were born in Poland but emigrated to Israel prior to 1958. If you read the web site of the Polish Government you will find that Poland passed a law that restores Polish Citizenship to any Jew who Emigrated to Israel after 1958. But the Majority of Polish Jews emigrated to Poland Prior to 1958. Over 200,000 by My estimate. I am a Jew, born in 1956 to Polish Parents who emigrated to Israel in April of 1957. When I contacted the Polish Consulate in NY City I was told I must apply to the Polish Government and they will than determined if I have a right to Polish Citizenship. None of My Polish Catholic friends were ever required to do that.
