History: The most recent (but not the first) pogroms by Arabs against Jews were in the 1920's, well before WWII. (There was one in Safed in the 1890's). Jews were forced to leave Hebron (among other places), where they had lived for generations. [more generations than many of the "palestinians" now living in Gaza and the West Bank]. They were a response to the feeling of the Arabs of too many Jews in the area. My Opinion: This was much like the present day reaction of Fundamental Islam that you kill people who [they think] ridicule Mohammed in words. What ever happened to "sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me"?
