Note that the American People's attention is restricted to domestic issues instead of foreign policy matters. 4. A new American President, even John McCain, will not be able to convince the American People of the need for another war. 5. Hamas cannot recognize Israel for that will be an implicit renunciation of the right of return and abandonment of the boundary issues. 6. Without support from Americans and American Jews, Israel will shortly be in an untenable position, so both sides need a truce right now. 7. Leave the recognition issue for final status negotiations.
