PM Netanyahu strongly condemned the attacks10:23 09.10.15 | 0 comments
'The Stages' argument. I already heard this many times and of course it can easily apply to any revolutionary or liberation movement or any resistance movement at any time or place. A kind of circular logic which automatically justifies rejection of any compromise. The Charter would not conceivably change without any agreement with Israel. It is old, but it is not meant to be holy so there is no reason why it could not change if an agreement were ever to be ratified. This has been stated by Meshal for one. Ratification of any agreement could easily hinge on such a revision of the charter and is therefore not a serious impediment to opening indirect negotiations, merely a fig leaf of an excuse, like the *stages argument*. The recognise Israel as a 'Jewish State' mishigas is just that. A deliberate spoiler. Why would Hamas offer recognition when Israel has never recognised the right of Palestinians to a State in Gaza and WB? It has only inferred it, as has Hamas. What's good for the goose... A desperate PLO did recognise Israel's right to statehood and boy has it been rewarded! Hamas already noted the reward, some lucrative bribes for PA officials and their families.
