The Israeli psyche regarding their national persecution of the Palestinians is very interesting and never compromised by any rational thoughts or facts. In any argument regarding Israeli behaviour the pattern of excuses is depressingly familiar. First use the tired old accusation of anti-semitism and follow this by ad hominem attacks [either on individuals or nation states]. Israel's actions in Gaza have been barbaric and amount to war-crimes and are seen as such by the entire international community. Israelis in general do not have the introspection to see or acknowledge this. For the people on this Talk Back who have attempted to justify Operation Cast Lead I have two questions; 1. If you really believe that Hamas used civilians as shields why did Israel specifically prevent civilian evacuation from Gaza ? 2. Do you realize that preventing civilians leaving a war-zone is a war-crime and one that the Waffen SS and the Gestapo used to great effect in Warzaw ?
