Perhaps, to think that sanctions + threat = will make Iran comply, is rather naive, more than "moderate". - Comment - Israel News | Haaretz Daily Newspaper

I may be wrong, but watching Iranian regime's twenty years of deceit, lies, exporting terror, oppression of its people, genocidal threats to Israel, Holocaust denial, with a world which essentially looks the other way, nurtures only the impression nobody is truly willing to confront the Iranian regime, much less under economic stress, and with uncertain results. What in Gantz's sober and lucid, calm attitude, can be construed as "moderate"? The fact he isn't hysterical, or beating the war drums? The fact he's not bragging about Israel's capabilities, and holding his cards close to his chest? To me that's only the expected from a wise, mature general in a position of the highest responsibility, but not "moderation" as opposed to "extremism" or "radicalism". The moderate vs extreme duality doesn't fit here. Thank you, Yonatan, Chag Ha'atzmaut Sameach !

Israel's angry, bitter left must reclaim the language of hope

We leftists whine and complain, we only talk about how bleak and hopeless life is in Israel. We alienate all those Israelis whose support we need to bring political change.
