Perhaps Israel should be strategically considering the value of putting all of its eggs in the US basket. How much value is the US to Israel? Sure, Israel gets aid, but it also has to forego huge amounts of money that it coul dget say from selling arms to China and India (though the US sells arms to Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries). And the veto in the Security Council is nice, but at what price? The 51st state? Israel was not always so dependent on the USA, and it did just fine. Perhaps it is time for Israel to consider growing up and having a more health y relationship with the US. Start by declining aid, otherwise stop complaining when you pay the price for being beholden to the US.
