Lapid would be heading a "party" with no history. No one yet knows who would be on the party's election list, yet by dint of association with the party's figurehead, and estimated 14 others would ride his coattails to power? Give me a break! Time to scrap the current system and move to single representative districts. A single Knesset house of 100 members should suffice, each representing districts of roughly 70,000. And eligible voters among those 70,000 will decide whether that representative deserves to be removed or returned to office. Finally, a measure of direct accountability. Until that day, how would the electorate deal with members of a "Lapid" bloc?
