I find it rather peculiar that some Israeli newspapers - I won't mention names, free advertising and all that - are accusing certain European countries of religious fundamentalism and extremism, yet here we see both of these occur in the heart of Israel. I just don't understand how can a small fringe group rule the lives of the entire nation of Israel. Is there no secular movement strong enough to confront this blatant form of segregation and human rights violation? Israel really needs a constitution stipulating that it is a secular, civic country. It seems to be the only way to keep religion private. As for that newspaper, all I can say is that no European country would ever allow this kind of behaviour by any group of people.
