Palestinians (and Arabs) are fracmented bunch of people. Once in the time Israel saw this as good thing and supported Hamas against PLO. Its easier to go to the war against fracmented enemy, but making peace becomes almost impossible. Making peace with Abbas or even the current leaders of Hamas may not be enough. There may be subfractions who are strong enough to continue with foreign help. Then what? It might be good to acknowledge that to get long term military solution means to kill Palestinia, kill Syria, kill Iran,.... you can't just topple their army or goverment. You have to kill whole nations. If this is the long term military option, peace agreement seems more plausible. Seeing that all this is a mess that is not going to be solved in near future, lots of smart people are moving out of Israel. Too bad that smart palestinians can't do that.
