A "peace process" is a means to an end, at the end of the peace process, one needs to reach a peaceful solution. All Israeli governments treated the "peace process" as the end rather than the mean, it was more of a conflict management rather that an actual processes with the main objective of ending the conflict. This type of process has reached its natural end. It is dead 6 feet under ground. When Israel is truly ready trade land for peace, the conflict can be resolved in less than 6 months since the outline of the settlement has been known for many years. The UN recognition of a Palestinian state is danger to Israel only if it refuses end this sad conflict. Since Netanyahu has no intention of withdrawing from the occupied territories, he sees it as a grave danger where he could be facing the ICC for the illegal settlements since international law clearly defines moving of the occupier's population into the occupied land a war crime.
