The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
One can either MAKE peace or FORCE peace. Israel with its superior military power can FORCE peace but the next question would be for how long? What will happen when the time comes when it can no longer FORCE it? There will surely be a turn around but with a lot of baggage behind it. That will reflect on the shape in which the peace will become. In contrast, Israel with its superior military power can MAKE peace. The critical element here is to do it while the disparity of power with its neighbors is at its widest. Because when the neighbors do catch up, and that's a question of when and not if (read your history if you have doubts) what would the deal be then? A little more wisdom, optimism and foresight coupled with less arrogance, negativism and radicalism from both sides goes a longer way for MAKING peace in the region.
