Who does not want peace? Levy’s piece divides the world into black and white: war mongers and peace lovers. But the world is not that way. We all want peace but peace that is sustainable and secure. And so, while Netanyahu strives to negotiate with Palestinians to attain such a peace, the Palestinians refuse to negotiate. And while Iran may point to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as its rallying cause, the Iranian regime will not change and will not alter its present course even if peace is attained. We need practical and sensible though to guide us, not pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking. Peace, the right type of peace, is hard to attain. And it certainly means the Arabs must be willing to negotiate.
