So here we are in the month of Elul, when the sephardic Jews are saying 'selichot' and the Ashkenazim start saying them this Saturday night. We are two weeks from Rosh HaShana when 'the entire Universe comes before Him for judgement', and Haaretz proclaims "The absurdity of intelligent design". I ask you is this not an 'Israeli plot' to undermine the efforts of our forefathers who taught the pagans that there is a Supreme Being and He created the world? What are believing Christians and Muslims going to say about this shallow tripe? Are they going to say "Bless the perfidious Jews"? The analogy is erroneous. What does the money have to do with the design of the house? Can one really say that the inner ear was designed at random? I don't really want to get into a theological polemic but I am ashamed of my people before the Gentiles with their 'smart-Alec' comments denying 'Creation ex nihilo' when for many generations we have been telling the Gentiles that "G-d Exists!" A fine Shabbat Shuva sermon indeed! haShana
