That "Israel Apartheid Week" is being sponsored by and held on university campuses is very indicative of the sorry state affairs for higher education today: hijacked by ideology disguised as education. How does applying the label of "Apartheid" lead to a full understanding of a situation that is not analogous to apartheid at all? Has anyone even looked at the definition of the word? I don't understand the need for people to latch onto these simplistic terms; perhaps it saves them the trouble of having to think critically for themselves, makes it easy to rally mobs of people together. Israel's policies regarding the Palestinians are arguably untenable and immoral on their own merits and for their own reasons. No one needs to go looking around for false analogies. This is a completely different situation from South Africa- applying the term "apartheid" won't solve it any time soon.
