First comprehensive study in Hebrew into Islamic State says Sunni group could wield more influence over Israeli Arabs and Palestinians if it takes land closer to Israel’s borders.11:08 28.11.15 | 1 comments
Loved the passive tone of your latest column. Gee, we're just nice people trying to get on with life but all these terrible things just keep happening to us! "The Middle East is becoming unstable". Is being made unstable, would be more like it. Whatever happens in the Middle East or anywhere else is a result of human decisions and actions - including Israel's. What we have is a result of what we have done. Don't like it? Change the disc - and the first change would be to get of the passive 'pity poor us' track and start taking responsibility for our actions. The first step would be to realize that 20% of the population in the State of Israel is not Jewish and they are not going away, nor will they be ignored. The next step would be to realize that a people that occupies another people will never be free - so let's free ourselves of the occupation. After that, we might even understand that real strength has nothing to do with brute force. Then we would be well on our way to behaving like a grown-up nation truly in charge of its own destiny instead of being dragged around whining that we're getting beat-up on.
