The only way to legitimately exert pressure on the United States is for the Arab Nations, not just the Palestinians, to feign closer cooperation with China and to raise oil prices. Since the US freaks out over the smallest Chinese moves, this will send major shockwaves. The Arab League members should exert oil pressure on the US, because higher oil prices mean slow economic growth. Their financial loss would be mitigated by Chinese demand. China in fact should be the PAL's sugar-daddy. This really seems to be the only way for the PALs to exert pressure on Washington: If Washington believes, after spending trillions of dollars on making the Middle East more amenable to its interests, that the region will simply turn to China, just see how fast it will scramble. The Arab nations, in addition to oil pressure, could refuse to renew the leases on American bases. Sure, there is their existential fear of Iran, but deals can be made. All these means sends the message: support Palestinian self-determination or leave the region.
